Your Security, Our Priority: How LVT is Redefining Security Accountability

LVT balances physical security with data privacy by focusing on behavioral monitoring rather than biometric or facial data. By detecting threats like loitering or trespassing without capturing sensitive personal info, they prioritize ethics and civil liberties. Data is protected via private cellular connections, encryption, and strict access protocols, ensuring customers retain full control. LVT uses AI responsibly to enhance situational awareness while setting a new standard for transparency.
In a world where every click leaves a digital data trail, people are becoming increasingly wary of how their personal data is being used. This worry is especially relevant when it comes to security infrastructure. While security technology is most often used for legitimate security purposes like preventing crime and protecting property, there is major potential for misuse when collected data is not secured properly by those harboring it.
The data collected by some security systems—including video footage, location tracking, and biometric information—can be used for purposes far beyond their original intent. Online, individuals at least get a notification about being tracked by "cookies" and usually a choice. With physical security systems, we don’t get to opt in or out of being “tracked.” The lack of secure data practices by companies that collect this information can expose entire communities to unwanted scrutiny and fear. This is why secure data practices are imperative.
The role of a physical security provider has evolved—rather than solely protecting people and places from crime, they’re now responsible for safeguarding sensitive data.
As a leader in physical security, LVT understands these concerns and is committed to operating with transparency to customers. We believe that cutting-edge security technology doesn’t have to come at the expense of someone’s privacy. Our mission is to make the world safer and more secure—and that includes data security, privacy, and accountability.
How LVT Protects Your Data
At LVT, we capture and record video and image data according to the alerts our customers configure for their cameras; however, our systems are not designed to categorize sensitive data like facial, racial, or other biometric data. Our goal is to monitor for threats based on behavior and prevent crime, not to track people. Our privacy policy describes our data collection and use practices.
Access and Sharing
LVT customers are in control of their video and image data. LVT does not share footage of any third party unless authorized by the customer or required by law.
Our Commitment to Your Data Security
Private Cellular Connections
Rather than having video footage cross the public internet, LVT uses dedicated cellular connections to transfer encrypted video to a secure, private cloud. This means that your data is protected when it is transmitted across a public network.
Platform Access
Recorded video reaches our private cloud when an authorized user requests it. This data is encrypted at the local SSD level and in transit to the cloud. In the cloud, the data is protected by server-side encryption. Access to our cloud environment follows the principles of "need to know" and "least privilege." User access is audited on a quarterly basis; it is also logged and monitored. LVT employees access customer footage only when authorized by the customer or required by a valid legal request (e.g., subpoena).
Secure Video and Image Storage
Even when a cellular connection is interrupted, video continues to be recorded on the LVT Unit itself. It can then be uploaded to the cloud once the secure connection is restored. This whole process is protected by end-to-end encryption, ensuring that the video is unreadable to anyone who does not have proper access.
How LVT Uses AI
LVT prioritizes the ethical and moral use of AI and maintains the highest degree of privacy for customers.
Here’s what LVT uses AI for:
- Analyzing behavior to automatically trigger deterrents like strobes or loudspeakers
- Distinguishing between objects (humans, vehicles, animals) and behaviors (loitering, trespassing, illegal dumping)
- Reducing false alarms, allowing security teams to focus on actual threats
- Enhance productivity for operators through natural language search and AI-assisted talkdowns
LVT does not use AI to discriminate against individuals based on facial, racial, or other biometric data.
LVT uses artificial intelligence and machine learning within our mobile security platform to empower security teams with insights and capabilities that can increase their productivity and accuracy, reduce costs, and maximize their security coverage. LVT’s AI only uses customer data for training purposes after permission has been granted.
LVT’s security technology is designed for deterrence and situational awareness regarding behavior and actions, rather than the capture of personally identifiable information like race, gender, age, religious affiliation, etc.
A New Standard for Trust and Accountability
We believe in building trust through transparency. Through our robust data security practices and responsible use of AI, LVT brings the highest level of data protection for your peace of mind and the safety of your communities. We’re setting a new standard for security technology—one built on trust, transparency, and the protection of privacy.
