Hello!
Well, we're excited to be here today. We'll give you guys a minute to join us. You know, folks will be trickling in.
But welcome to our intelligence report. We're excited to talk with you about, all things intelligence, so
Really excited to have you.
While folks are joining, I'll go over a little bit of housekeeping, and we'll talk about, you know, what you can expect from today. So, first things first, today's, you know, webinar is the intelligence report, so we'll be talking about deterrence, investigations, and safety as key functions, for your business and for your security and for your safety.
That span your sites, your portfolio, your organization, all of it. So, we'll be talking about each one of these, and digging into a live demo, so excited to be able to show you what those capabilities are.
Now, before we get started, main thing here is that any questions, that you have, drop them in the chat, the Q&A, we would love to take those questions throughout, you know
George Bentinck
Absolutely.
Tim Male
Throughout the duration of this, you know, we don't want, we don't want to, you know, just be kind of talking to each other. We want to be able to engage with you as well. So, look forward to, to hearing what you have to say and the questions that you bring.
So don't hold back. And the second thing is that, this webinar is being recorded, so we will be able to send you the recording shortly after we wrap today, and you'll be able to have that to refer back to
George Bentinck
It's been cute.
Tim Male
Really clean, you know.
What we're talking about, and all the goodies that we'll be showing you today.
So, we'll go ahead and get started. So, I want to introduce you to George. If you haven't heard of George, he is our Chief Product Officer. Hey, George!
George Bentinck
Hey, Tim. Hello, everyone.
Good to meet you all today. I feel like I'm running out of road on saying I recently joined LVT, so you may have actually come across me before, I hope so, maybe at one of our events or one of our other webinars, but if you haven't, I joined in December. Previous to LVT, I worked at a small company called Cisco, known for networking, but
My domain was product management, building the first AI security cameras for enterprise at Cisco, going through a number of generations of that. And I joined LVT in December because I saw an opportunity to take a lot of what I had learned in that role and come do it bigger, better, and more exciting at a hyper-focused company like LVT. So.
I feel like I've only just started my journey, having done more than a decade at one company, and less than a year at this one. There is so much that I have planned to build, and a lot of value that's going to be coming your way. I'm excited to share a preview of some of that, and some live demos. I twisted Tim's arm, and the webinar team's eye.
No screenshots.
Yep. No videos, we're gonna have people outside using real technology. There is a chance it might break, that's just, well, not the demo gods are on your side, but hope to make it a worthwhile, like, 30, 45 minutes of your time.
Tim Male
Perfect. Yeah, we're really excited to have you, George, and really lucky. George is really sharp, has a lot of really great insight, a lot of really great, you know, experience in the space, so it's, it's really great to
to have you on our team, and be able to kind of work with you there, and, you know, also get to pick your brain about some of the things we'll talk today, which is, you know, intelligence, and yes, the demos are exciting. We're gonna be, it's gonna be some good stuff. We're doing it, doing it live, which is really fun.
So, oh, oops, so
Let's start off with challenges, right? We know that challenges, are a big thing in security and safety. That is why that function exists, is because challenges present themselves, right? So, there's a bit of a flywheel here when we think about, you know.
What we can do as organizations and as security leaders and operators to really secure a site and a portfolio
While also not pulling our hair out, you know, to make that happen, right? It shouldn't be this big and heavy lift, but as you can see, there's a bit of a cycle. So criminals are already desensitized to traditional deterrence, right? I know all of you on the call are thinking the same thing, which is that
You know, a generic camera mounted to
your building, or just some kind of pre-recorded audio, is probably not going to cut it on a lot of sites, right? They just have learned that, oh, that's the same message over and over, nobody's watching that camera, so I'm coming back, and I'm gonna push harder and harder until I actually create an incident.
That is, that is a real challenge, and a real problem.
George Bentinck
I have a great example from the past where I was working with a retail customer, and they just
redeployed new modern cameras that we'd been developing, and they told me about this incident where they had called someone shoplifting very quickly, which they were very happy about, but the person involved
claimed that they had no evidence of this, and they said, well, why do you think that? Look, there are cameras just there. And he's like, no, that's not a camera, that's like a smoke detector.
And because the, sort of, like, miniaturization of technology and the sort of, like, being able to make, like, small, powerful devices, like cameras now, like, the desensitization, as Tim is talking about, to that actually being meaningful, was, like, quite clearly apparent there. And so, although they had
this great capability now to, like, search video and work on things after the fact. They might prefer that people did not.
commit a shoplifting offence in their retail store in the first place. So, like, the sort of idea that you really should care about how effective the deterrence is, was, like, quite clearly apparent in that particular one, because they'd prefer not to have to investigate and then try and prosecute instances of shoplifting. They prefer that there weren't any at all.
Because people saw, Something that deterred them from doing it that was effective.
Tim Male
Right, yeah, great example. Yeah, and I think it's, it's, it gets to that, the heart of some of the challenge that's, that's lying beneath this, which is that
there's always this push and pull, it's outsmarting the criminals who are getting smarter, so it's like, you have to constantly be a step ahead and really be seeing around the corners to fight that desensitization, right? Because it has to be dynamic, it has to, you know, it has to work in
In many ways, you know, and kind of outsmart them before they can outsmart you.
So, definitely a challenge, but in the same vein.
You know, you've got these people who are desensitized to deterrents, they're coming back to your site, they're doing all this nefarious stuff, and security teams are getting, you know.
mountains of footage, mountains of alerts. They're, you know, they're responsible for perusing and sifting through and really trying to find the needle in the haystack and really know what
You know, they need to action on, versus what is sort of a
you know, I always say this funny example about a goose walking through the parking lot, right? Or, you know, maybe there's something blowing in the wind. Like, all of these false alerts, you know, kind of muddy the water, and you really gotta get in there, and they have to be really strategic about how they action and what they action.
George Bentinck
So we want to, like, prevent it happening, but inevitably something is going to happen, and you'll probably be asked to explain why, and to find the video that sort of details what occurred, and I just
The world has moved on, but
not all of the security technology seems to have gone with it, has been my experience. Still amazing to me, talking to a customer who was explaining their experience when they said, yeah, the only way we could find out what happened was we put that video on a monitor in our office, and we pressed 5 times playback speed, or 8 times playback speed, and we just let it play, and we hoped that we'd see what happened. Like, the search tools were not good enough, they weren't
effective at, like, looking through all of that information to find what they want. And that's real time. That's, like, burning a lot of your valuable time to be focused on other things. And so, talking about some of the intelligence tools that we have, and are up and coming in our roadmap.
I think you'll see that we can drastically reduce your team's time when they do have to go look for things.
Tim Male
Totally. Yeah, and they can't, I mean, yeah, there's a real material cost to the time suck that is happening with this footage, and with these alerts, and really trying to sift through. So, you know, it affects the bottom line, and it affects the productivity and the impact.
George Bentinck
And I think just, I think this, like, little, data point will flow into what I want to talk about in a couple of slides' time, but one of the benefits of having this, like,
cloud-connected technology is we can easily improve and understand how it's being used.
And one of the interesting stats for me over the years has been, like, how much video do people watch? Like, you spend a lot of money deploying security infrastructure with all of these capabilities, but, like, how much of what is collecting do you actually use or need?
And I normally ask people, and they guess, and it's almost always less than people expected. So, less than 1% of the video that's captured
is watched, and then you've got to ask yourself, how much of what you watched was useful? So then you're, like, really on a vanishingly small amount of the data that's gone and been collected that's turned out to be useful, and that's a challenge if you then have to spend a lot of your time trying to review a security instance, and a challenge for the business when you're saying, hey, let's go and invest in more of this to collect a lot of data that we don't
actually take advantage of. And I think that's where some of the exciting future pieces I'll talk about in a couple of slides' time are going to sort of tie back together.
Tim Male
Yeah.
Absolutely, yeah, I agree. I think that's
I think that's kind of bleeds right into this next part of this cycle, right? Which is that
Being bogged down, and not knowing how to be effective, or, you know, take action the right way, or know what's real and what's, you know.
a goose, for lack of a better phrase, is that response to bad actors is slow and ineffective, right? You know, somebody's on site, you've got a lot of alerts, you've got a lot of things happening, you can't prioritize, or you're not sure what, which one to prioritize. That makes it really hard for your security team to actually get out there
And deter, or intervene, or whatever the process is that you have in place.
you know, they
they, it's hard to see the forest through the trees, through some of that. So, it makes it really difficult to get out there.
And be effective in the response, as well.
And then finally.
if you are bogged down in footage, and you're having a hard time with response because, you know, it's slow or ineffective, or, you know, there's too much going on, well, then resolving the investigation that, after something happens, is clunky and time-consuming as well. So this kind of bleeds into that concept of
security teams being buried in footage and alerts, right? There's just too much happening, too much to sift through, too much work to do manually, that it stalls resolution, it stalls investigations, you know, the law enforcement relationship can suffer, and you may not see results in the ways that, or pursue, you know, action to prevent
These behaviors in the ways that you'd like because of all of the other
Moving parts that you have to do manually.
And that bleed, that brings us right back to the beginning, right? So if you're not able to resolve investigations, and it's in a timely manner, then criminals are still going to be desensitized, right? They're still, they're not going to see an outcome. They're going to continue to
You know, take advantage of your site and your portfolio, and what's, what, whether that's a construction site and they want to sell materials, whether that's, you know
some kind of, solar farm where they want to steal copper. You know, there's, by not being able to prosecute and resolve an investigation effectively and quickly.
you're then giving the green light to say, well, we don't really do anything about this, come and do it again, right? So that's why this is a bit of a cycle that's really challenging for a lot of security teams today.
And finally, before we move on, there's another component to this that we can't lose sight of, which is that
all of this leads to your frontline employees, your high-risk employees, the team actually feeling unsafe and unprotected, right? Because all of this is happening under their nose, and they're watching it happen in real time, and it makes it really hard for them to feel like
They are, they can go to work and not have to interface with somebody who is a bad actor, or show up to a job site and feel confident that no one's hiding, having just tried to take machinery, or materials, or whatever might happen.
So, this kind of sits all around the cycle, because it impacts everything, right? They become less productive, they become, the turnover increases.
You know, folks are just afraid, and we have to, that's an important piece that we can't ignore as it relates to
The security and safety of sites, is the frontline impact.
That's more.
So I'm sure you're all like, yes, I understand, I understand this is, you're preaching to the, you're preaching to the choir here. So let's do a quick, let's do a quick poll. I want to know which of the following takes up most of your time. So, is that deterring bad actors and trespassers.
Is that keeping employees safe and productive? Is it sifting through footage?
You, we would love to know. Thanks, Eve.
Okay, yeah, looks like, Healthy mix here.
Yeah, employee safety is huge. I
JC, I totally understand what you're saying here.
And it's interesting that it, with employee safety, because that is
that is a part of the organization that sort of is shared with, like, HR, you know? So it's not necessarily only a security focus, it's actually shared with AHR and other teams as well, so
Really good stuff.
So yeah, looks like a healthy mix. I appreciate the responses here.
Yeah, and it all makes sense, right? We know these are challenges, you know, it sounds like, it sounds like it's a big focus for you all as well, so
Thanks for, thanks for taking the time to, Give us that insight.
So, this is something you may have seen before, depending on your experience with LVT, which is that we are, really focused on something called intelligent site management, and
I think George, you know, being kind of the chief product officer and really focused on creating this kind of experience and this focus for LVT
You know, we'd love to hear you kind of talk about it, and let us know what that is.
George Bentinck
So, in
So let's go back to what I said about this 99%. So, like, 99% of the video that is probably captured by security systems is not valuable, not used for anything, and it's just
very hard for anyone to go and have a look at. But the thing is, it has lots of information in it.
Lots of information about your business, your site operations, your facility, it just needs to be quantified.
And so, the evolution of LVT from, like, a pure physical security MSU provider has been underway for some time.
on this journey to something called intelligent Site Management. So what is Intelligent Site Management? You may hear us talk about ISM, that's Intelligent Site Management.
It's actionable intelligence for the physical world.
And one of those pieces of intelligence could be for safety and security, but it can also be for other things, such as operational insights, creating more efficient logistics locations, and so on.
Now, the way we think about ISM is in three core areas.
First.
to get ISM to provide the intelligence, you need the data, and that's where the coverage comes into play.
And so this is where you're most likely familiar with our mobile security unit, the MSU. That gives you a lot of site coverage. But we've recently launched this year other product offerings that increase the coverage choices that you have.
So that includes things such as Surround, which is a, multi-viewpoint, building-mounted
deterrence and camera system, so everything you know from an MSU, but able to cover much more, permanently attached to the building, doesn't take up any square footage in your parking lot or, like, small retail location, for example, but has all those capabilities that you would want from us.
And we have others in the works as well.
And so, the coverage pillar is how we're going to get you the data, and then action outbound things like deterrence, because we have devices out there in the real world, such as spotlights, and talk-down speakers, and strobes, and so on. So it's like a foundational piece.
But then next, we have the intelligence piece. So this is where, with those data sets that we're collecting, we're able to look at that information and make determinations about what to go do. And we're going to talk about some of those packages, but
The important piece is, this is not just go, this isn't just going to be for security.
Almost all of what we offer right now is, but you'll start to see in the coming months and at future webinars that continued release of new capabilities which extend what we have to things that are not just safety and security.
And if you're in a safety and security role right now, you may be like, well, why should I care about that? Well, my experience is, it really helps you unlock additional funding
for your infrastructure deployments, for safety and security, from other operating budgets. So you can go to your counterparts and be like, okay, well, you can get, let's say, PPE compliance reporting for personal protective equipment on a construction site with our solution.
that is going to be useful to a part of the business that might help fund your deployment for just a security use case. So it really is, like, beneficial to extend the application use cases that you can get from the infrastructure.
And then finally, we're not going to build everything, alright? If we, said that, you shouldn't believe us.
Like, there's just too many things that are out there that could be very valuable to you, but maybe just you and your business alone. And so, the product company, we want to enable you to get that solved, but we can't build a specific, bespoke, one-off.
application or feature for every one of our customers, because we have tens of thousands, and that would just be something that is not really viable. And so an ecosystem allows you, or third parties, to go and build on these.
pieces of infrastructure and intelligence, so not talking just hardware, I'm also talking software, is where the ecosystem comes into play.
And so, this is the vision of the company, this is what got me really excited to come and join, and I think if you're looking at who you want to partner with, not just for security, but as, like, a partner that helps you create value for your business.
this is what you're going to want to see. And so I'm really excited to, like, be in the process of delivering that now, with a lot of big new things coming in the not-too-distant future.
So we're going to go into that a little bit more, but I think, Tim, I'm just looking at my watch here, and I'm like.
I live for the demos, and I know we have some people actually, like, in a parking lot waiting to do that, so let's see if we can, like, up our cadence a little bit on the content, and then we can get to showing people the live demos and get a few more questions.
Tim Male
Yeah, totally. Well, in that, in the interest of, yeah, getting, getting to the demo and showing you kind of what, you know, what you're here to see, we'll kind of move quickly through, through some of this, so
George had really talked about a lot of intelligence side management and what that concept is, but let's dig in just for a second so you have context on the intelligence piece as a value driver, right? It's your multiplier. So what I mean by that is, as George had said.
it satisfies two needs at once. So, we're talking both security and business operations, right? There are use cases all around that can be applied, and will continue to grow and be applied
to
your security infrastructure, right? So that it's not just about security, but it also bleeds into traffic patterns and, you know, virtually anything that you need operationally.
which also allows you to compound over time. So the value of these compound, right? So if you're already part of, you know, an intelligent package, or already using the solutions that we're going to be talking about today, we're going to keep building upon those, right? These are not just sort of one-and-done experiences.
These will build over time, and more functionality will be included in these packages.
So what that means is that over time and later on, you're seeing new benefits, you're seeing additional value in what you're already paying for, instead of saying, oh, there's this cool new thing from LVT, I have to now buy another thing, right? It's going to be part of these packages that we'll be discussing today.
And that defends your spend, right? That makes it much easier for you to find success and make budget conversations easy, to say, look, this is actually working, there's a lot of value here, we can use it from an operations perspective as well, and then you're not having to fight for every line item when budget conversations come up.
Which we know could be really challenging, right? Especially in the security world.
So that's why we introduced, Oops, sorry.
George Bentinck
Yeah, I feel like I'll take a quick bit of commentary on this, Tim, and hand back to you.
Tim Male
Sure.
George Bentinck
It may not be particularly clear from the slides, but I wanted to sort of highlight what Tim was saying. The three things you see on here are software packages.
So, we have intelligent deterrence, intelligent investigations, and intelligent safety, and we're going to tell you more about those in a second.
But what is, what does package mean? Why should you care? And then, I really want to lean into Tim's comments about, oh, we released a new thing, a capability one, and you hadn't budgeted for it, or you didn't put it in your RFP, or, like, you don't know what you might need
a year from now, right? But you want to know that the partner you've picked
If they release it, they're gonna help you use it.
And so, at the start of this year, I went and looked at how we were, sort of, delivering some of these advanced capabilities, and I didn't think we'd done the best job to help all of you get access to them.
And so each one was, like, a thing you would pay for and have some extra parts you might need to, work out a budget line item for. So these packages have items in them today.
But we'll be giving you new capabilities every quarter, and they will be at no additional cost.
So you could invest in an intelligence deterrence and Intelligent Investigations package set today.
For the next, let's say, 24 months. And every quarter, we're going to deliver a new capability, or significantly enhanced existing capability.
To you at no additional cost as part of that package.
And so, Yes, there is hardware involved.
But we also want to enable you to get incremental benefits, as you would do with software updates to, like, your mobile phone or other applications that you're used to using. And then this package format allows us to do that with
You having a very predictable spend, where you're not having to suddenly go and find new funding for those extra things.
Tim Male
Yeah.
couldn't have said it better myself. I think that is, that is exactly the intent here, is that there's, there's so much room to grow with these packages, without having to, again, say, you've got to go have these budget conversations and dig into all of that.
So, really quickly, and then we'll move into demo, so get excited, we're almost there. But we're going to talk about each one of these packages very lightly, very high level, and then I'll show you what they do. So, intelligent deterrence.
is in the name, right? It's a deterrent package. So the challenge today, obviously, as we've discussed, is that intruders are desensitized, right? And humans can't respond fast enough, which is why the solution that intelligent deterrence provides is sort of this dynamic, personalized deterrent experience
That really gives the perception that someone's watching and ready to act, even when they're not.
Right? So this is, like
in the flavor of calling out, clothing or, behaviors and saying, you know, you should not be here, you need to leave, and that is jarring, right, to somebody who is used to saying, please do not enter this property, right? It's a bit of a different dynamic experience and really calls back to getting in front of
The ever-evolving threat of intruders, right?
George Bentinck
Yeah, I think that the key, as you've said, Jim, is it's got to be believable that there is, like, some
observation that would have consequence, right? So, like, if you decide to jump over the fence and run in to try and grab some of those things, like.
You don't want it to just say the same thing it does every time you walk past, because you're then like, oh, this
probably likely just a robot, like, there isn't someone watching. But, like, when it's, it has, like, that escalating level of behaviors, right? It doesn't behave the same way if you stay there a longer and longer period of time. When it's able to be quite specific, so, like, for me wearing my hat and my, and my blue blazer here, it's like, hey, you in the hat with the blue blazer, I'm like, hang on.
That's, That's calling me out. That's not just saying.
random person, please don't do random thing. It is so much more effective, and it's, it's pretty fantastic hearing the customer
testimonials. I think the most, the most, sort of surprising one to me, because it just seems, like, too good to be true, is, and Tim, you might, remember that the customer name is, like.
we went from X number to zero, like, it was 100% effective. Now, as, like, a product person, I'm like, I don't believe anyone who says 100% effective, but, like, it's actually what the customer's experience was, which was quite incredible. Do you happen to remember the name on that one?
Tim Male
It was a logistics company that was backed up to a railroad, and they were having really bad issues with vagrancy and starting fires and, you know, vandalism and a lot of those experiences. The name is escaping me, but that was the situation. And by having this talk down, call out these individuals, I think they, you know, the value was clear that they were like, whoa, not here, we gotta move on, right? So they moved on to a softer site.
Because they were alarmed by the fact that their, you know, clothing and, you know, different attributes were actually being identified and recognized. So they had the feeling that somebody was watching them and ready to take action, and they wanted to get out of there.
So, super valuable.
So that's one of the pieces, right? That's intelligent deterrence is kind of your first, like, left-a-bang experience. And then we think about intelligent investigations, right? As I alluded to, there's a lot of footage, there's a lot of alerts, and it's hard to clear up post-incident resolution, right? And really maintain
you know.
productivity, and make sure that things actually get done, folks actually get prosecuted, or, you know, the report internally gets completed on time and effectively. So that's why we've introduced intelligent investigations, which
Today, you know, includes this natural language video search, so that way.
you can type in identifiers that you would use just in regular language. You don't have to pull any crazy magical, you know, data report, right? You don't have to know SQL or anything. You just ask the, you just put in the attributes, and it will provide you with the footage.
Related to what you're asking for.
So, that really bleeds into this idea of, like, working better with law enforcement, giving time back to, you know, the security teams, as we talked about at the time suck, to dig through all of this footage, right? They don't want to have to put it on the TV and do 5X
speed and hope they see something, right? That they can actually focus on the high-value work instead of just scrubbing footage, you know, especially for those really high-risk sites.
George Bentinck
Yeah, I think, especially for noisy sites, like, if you don't have a particularly noisy site, you can, like, search for motion and more basic things, and you'll get there. But, like, on the busier ones, where it's like, okay, it, like, find vehicles, and there's, like, 100 vehicles an hour, and you're like, okay, well, this is going to be painful. But now, like.
pickup truck with a ladder in the back, right? And they're like, that's who took the ladder. It's quite a different experience, from what you might have been used to in the past, and just massive time saving. Massive time saving.
Tim Male
Yeah, absolutely, which is, which
leads into more money, you know? Everyone can be more effective in the work that they do.
And finally, intelligent safety. So, you'll remember when I talked about the cycle, I had that circle, that ring around it that talked about employees feeling unsafe, unprotected. That's a real challenge. Frontline, high-risk, lone workers, they feel unprotected, or maybe even uninvested in their own security, and they're jaded about dealing with, you know.
different experiences day in and day out. It's just part of the job, in their mind. So that makes your procedures slow and ineffective. It makes current processes really hard, and it makes people feel undervalued, right? So you have turnover and productivity and all the things I alluded to before.
So, that's why we introduced Intelligent safety, which is this concept and this package that really leans into safer, more productive
crews and sites, like, creating this culture of safety, which today looks like empowering employees to kind of be advocates for their own safety in some ways, right? Making good on duty of care that you provide.
Not just reliant on, you know, other resources and tools that are there.
which work, but they want to be the agents of their own safety. And that puts this right in their hand, through, a mobile app, right? They can actually activate the unit, say I'm getting to my car, I'm arriving on a, to a job site early, I don't know who's lurking around, let me just activate the unit so it gives this message.
And I can escalate to 911 if I need to. So, something that can be directly passed down to frontline individuals is crucial, right? It's a really important piece of this package today.
George Bentinck
So, Tim, we're at the half-hour mark, and I'm about the demo, so I'm not going to say anything else.
Tim Male
Well, let's take a look. So, while I am moving my screen over, let's just, let me just do this. Let's see
Okay
Alright, sorry, give me one second, the, I've got a couple different things happening here.
That I gotta set up.
Okay, perfect.
So, First, let's take a look at, Intelligent.
deterrence, right? I'm hoping that you all can see the VMS on the screen. It switched from my slides to the VMS. Thumbs up, George.
Perfect, alright.
Tim Male
All right, so far, so good. We're making progress. So, what we've got is, you know, this concept, right, this idea of intelligent deterrence, identifying and talking down to individuals who are where they're not supposed to be.
And the idea here is that we've got somebody on site. We've got Ankur. Ankur, are you with us down there in the parking lot?
Ankur Raniwala
Hey, Tim, I'm here, can you hear me?
Tim Male
Yes, we can hear you. Thanks for working with us. So, I am actually looking at a demo unit in our parking lot at our headquarters, and Ankur is there, and
I think the first thing that you'll want to, what you'll notice is that when Ankur walks into the field of view of the camera, it will identify that there's somebody there, and then we'll be able to hear the talk down through Ankur's audio. So, Ankur, if you don't mind, go ahead and step into the field of view.
LVT Mobile Security Unit
The person in the light shirt and dark pants, you are trespassing.
Tim Male
So, there you have it.
So, what you see there in real time, this is actually, this is happening right now as we speak, right? And George, the demo gods were in our favor today.
George Bentinck
Yeah!
Tim Male
Which is amazing. So what you see there is that Ankur actually entered a detection zone, right, on our unit in the parking lot. And not only did it, you know.
identified that he was there. It also identified what he was wearing, right? So, this is the value that, kind of to call back originally to what we talked about, these generic concepts, generic talk-downs, you know, this is
identifying his light shirt and the dark pants, and it identifies exactly what Ankur is wearing, and so Ankur is likely to say, whoa, somebody's looking at me, who is that person? I gotta get out of here.
Which is really amazing, right? It's really great stuff. And, you know, there's a lot of, a lot of room for something like this, right? There's a lot of room to grow with something like this, right? What kinds of other behaviors can we fold into this in the future? Or, you know, what kinds of different things can we look at, right, to continue to call out and make this super dynamic?
George Bentinck
Yeah, and I'm looking forward to the next webinar where we can start showing you the feature that's going to drop as it updates the intelligence package that actually Ankur and team are working on. I was in this parking lot a few weeks ago, late at night, and having a real-world demo of what was coming up, and it's
is pretty incredible, and I think it's going to really help with, those high-risk sites, where you
You've got people who are quite determined to come and take things from your location, so
Yeah, I think this is
super valuable, and as you said, Tim, people become sort of desensitized, and we've got the next things coming that are going to be really effective.
Tim Male
Yeah, it's, and to that point, it's crucial, like, again, stay, outsmarting the criminal, right? Staying ahead of what they think and know
your site does, or how it engages with them, or how they, you know, should react or respond. You know, all of this is important, and it's how we continue to build the package, right? So, that is a great example of, kind of, where we are and how we want to continue to augment intelligent deterrence moving forward. Now.
Something else that you may be asking is, or wondering is sort of like, well, That's really great, but
and that's great that it's effective, but how do I actually know that
it, what it's saying, right? Like, my organization is really, you know, is really specific about how
compliance and guardrails, and making sure that, you know, maybe that the solutions that we use are really adhering to our standards, right, and not necessarily calling out or saying something that isn't compliant. So
As you witnessed, we just experienced it in real time, but there's also an activity report, right? That we can take a look at, and we can see exactly what was said.
You know, by the unit to an individual who was on-site.
So, as we saw, right here, this is showing me Eastern Time, because I'm in the Eastern time zone, but as you saw, just a few minutes ago, we had Ankur Walk there, and it's telling us exactly what was said.
to Ankur, so that way there's sort of a check and balance, right? You can have confidence that the deterrence actually
Worked, but was also in line with what your organization expects from a partner doing something like this.
And, as a bonus, you get all kinds of good activity reports, so you get to see, you know, the average amount of talk-down events, and how many actually happened in the last 30 days, right? You'll see we do a lot of testing, so there's a lot going on in this instance, but
you're able to take a look at that, and then you're also able to dig in exactly what that audio was. So, you can click on the video and see, you know, Ankur walking in.
And experiencing the talk-down, you can also hear the experience.
Tim Male
So yeah, good stuff. That is the intelligent deterrence experience.
We'd love to take any questions while we, you know, while we're here, just to see if anybody, there's anything that we can address or dig into a little further. I know that
George Bentinck
I think I would point out, Jane, this is just one of the capabilities in the intelligence deterrence. There are others that we're unable to show right now. For example, the
the spotlight.
not such a great demo during the day, and I appreciate all of your enthusiasm for joining us, but I think it probably wouldn't be quite the same if we were doing this at 11pm at night. But there are other aspects to the package which we're not demoing. We're just giving you a flavor of some of the capabilities.
Tim Male
Exactly, yeah, great call out. And yeah, yeah, if
If any of you are interested in joining a webinar at 11 o'clock at night, let us know. We'll show you, we'll show you how the other pieces work, too. But yes, I think, yeah, it's a great call-out, and this is not
Not just specific to this
this one kind of capability. So, great follow-up.
George Bentinck
Alright, what's next?
Tim Male
Yes, so next, I am working to, so I lost my connection with my phone. The demo guys, I jinxed us, right? I said, I said it too quickly. I lost my connection with my phone to show intelligent safety, so let me just get that wired back up in 2 seconds, and I'll be able to show you that.
the intelligent safety component, as we discussed, is that frontline employee, high-risk, lone worker kind of, duty of care support, right? It gives them the agency to work, and own their own safety, and be invested in it as well. So again, fighting desensitization.
And working through giving them really valuable tools. So, that is, a piece of that is what we, you'll see in here called SafeNow, which is a component of our mobile app.
So, before I show you the mobile app, the main thing to keep in mind is that
you gotta set it up. So let's take a look at how you do that, in terms of what that functionality looks like. So
This is, this is the unit, the location, excuse me, that we have
We just saw Ankur, that's exactly where he is.
There is a setting for Save Now, and Save Now is pin-based, so what that does is that actually allows
you or a location admin to create a PIN that allows us to launch deterrents on
an MSU, or a unit on-site. So all these people are able to do that. You're able to select which unit on the location is a participating unit that they can activate.
And so, really good stuff to be able to say, okay, well, maybe not the one in the back corner, you know, let's do the one that's right in the, in the parking lot, because folks are, you know, going to their cars a lot, or we have shift change, or, you know, many different things, right? So
really
really scalable, really easy to do, because it's just a pin. All they have to do is how, you just gotta send out the PIN, they've got to just have the PIN saved in a note on their phone, what have you, and they're actually able to
you know, in high-risk situations, actually able to activate a deterrence profile in, with LVT. So, having said that, let me take, let me show you what that looks like on the mobile app.
So, I'm hoping, again, thumbs up, George, you can see my phone.
George Bentinck
Okay, yep.
Tim Male
Okay, great. So, first and foremost, I am, let's say that I am the admin. You know, I've got to find the PIN, right? I generated the PIN,
I would come into the mobile app, and you'd see this in the menu here that says, Safe Now Pen.
Same location as we just looked at. So this would give employees, this pin gives employees the ability to activate a unit's safety features like strobes, blood lights, announcements, just to say, hey, this area is being monitored. You've gotta, you know, you've got to
just proceed with, you know, essentially giving them any bad actor who's lurking, or looking to snatch a purse, or whatever might happen, drawing their attention to the unit, right? And letting them know this is being monitored, so that it instills that fear.
So, You can generate a PIN
And so, I just did. And this is the pin that we have.
for the unit. So, I can copy this PIN.
And then now what I need to do is I need to log out.
And then you would have employees download the LVT app, right? The individuals who would be using SafeNow would download the LVT app, and you don't have to give them access to everything. They're not going to see all your camera feeds, they're not going to see all the admin experience. All they have to do is click sign in with PIN
And they would drop the pin in.
And it brings up this experience, right? This is just very simple, it's one swipe, it's super easy. We kept it this way because it's great for, situations where maybe fight or flight kicks in, right? You know, all you gotta do is swipe your finger, right? It's just super simple and super easy.
Ankur, are you still with us down by the unit, so I can, we can hear what Luna does in my hand.
Ankur Raniwala
Yep, I'm here.
Tim Male
So what I would do with my fingers, I would slide to activate the unit.
LVT Mobile Security Unit
Appreciate your hard work and care.
Tim Male
that's a specific, you know, top-down message we selected, right, to have on our site, you know, because it's our HQ. And, that starts as a
mid-level deterrent, right? It's sort of one of these things where we say, this is being monitored, you know, etc. Let's say as I'm walking to my car, though, and I realize, oh no, there's somebody walking toward me who was not deterred by that initial message, I am actually able to drag this SOS
So that way, I can actually have a bridge to 911, right? A direct bridge to emergency services. So if I feel the situation is escalating, I'm able to drag it, call 911, and actually get response, and start that process of having somebody, you know.
get on site to handle the situation, right? Maybe at that same time, I walk back toward the building and get back inside, lock the door, you know, whatever it might be. But this is a tool that's right in those individuals' hands that you can use, that they can use to
you know, feel safe. And it's a great measure for you to show that you're making good on duty of care, that you really care about your employees, and that you want them to have a great work experience, and go home the same way that they showed up at work.
So that is intelligent safety. That's kind of one of the pieces of this bigger puzzle, right?
And as George said, kind of, there are additional capabilities and additional things, that, you know, will be a little more difficult to show right now, but there, it's all about this creating the culture of safety. So any thoughts or questions that we can answer about SAFE Now?
And intelligent safety and intelligent deterrence, you saw that too, before we move on to intelligent investigations.
Okay well, I'm assuming you can now see my
My BMS again? Perfect. Thumbs up. All right.
So let's talk about intelligent investigations, right? This is the one where we're talking about footage, and, you know, we had talked about resolving, kind of, the right of bang experience, you know, once something happens, unfortunately, on a site.
So, there's a tab here that's called Forensic Search, and that is one of the capabilities of intelligent Investigations. So, this is what we were talking about earlier, this plain language, video, and alert search. So.
Let's do our site, our headquarters, and let's change
you know, let's change it to 48 hours. Now, one thing I want to call out about the locations is that you can select more than one, or you could select all of them, right? You can search across your entire portfolio, depending on your capabilities and your permissions.
So it doesn't have to be specific to a site. If you're not sure where something happened, you could search all the footage, right, and take a look.
And also, you can, you know, distill down by custom range or specific timing. I'm gonna do 48 hours, just so that we don't have to look through too much. Let's do
A red SUV with a yellow sticker.
So, this car was, at our HQ, at 11, from 11.30 to 11.42 at night. Now, what this did is it pulled footage, clips, right?
That are most relevant to the search that I just submitted.
So, really interesting. It gives me kind of a timeline, right? I can see, I can see that they arrived. I can also see when they left. So, if we make this large.
You'll see it's a red vehicle with a yellow sticker, right?
And as they
exit, I'm able to actually watch the clip, right, to see exactly what happened. Did they get out of the car and
throw a cigarette on the ground, right? What happened before they exited? Right? So that just saved me
I mean, mountains of time from having to go find that specific clip and identify that car and figure out what happened, right? I have now a sophisticated timeline of specifically how this worked.
And when they were on our site.
Another piece is that you can share this with somebody, so let's say that you need to, you know.
send
this clip to somebody, you can, you know, whether that's through an email or phone number, so you can send it to your higher-up or your security team, whoever, to be aware. You can also download the footage, right? You can download the clip and have it available, so again, you can continue to, push toward resolution.
So
Let's do one more, I know we're kind of coming up on time, so let's do one more, just
That's something more, like, simple here. So if we do person in black shirt
you know, we'll get, let's do, we'll do blue shirt, because we had our cleaning crew there, so I wonder if it'll show us the cleaning crew's there.
Yep, right here. So, here's an individual
Who's in the van, and they are
putting materials and things to clean our office and to restock our office into crates, and we're able to actually see that footage, right? It pulled that result, and we're able to dig in. So again, verifying that that happened. That's a really great, this is a really great operational use case, to George's point, to say, like, yes, actually this happened, which is, which is fantastic.
So
That is Intelligent Investigations, a piece, in a nutshell, a piece of the, a piece of the broader story. So, I'm happy to answer any questions, that you have in the chat, but if not, we'll continue to press on, and we've only got a few more slides, so
So as we've said, you know, George and myself, that we're enhancing these packages every quarter, right? They're gonna grow, they're going to expand, they're going to get more capability and more functionality. So what does that look like? For intelligence deterrence, that's sort of, again, digging into this notion of autonomous and dynamic sites that bad actors avoid, because they feel like someone's watching.
Another piece of that is this, is kind of that spotlight that George had mentioned, which, you know, shines a light, so to speak, pun intended, on that.
Activity, bad actors.
Similarly, intelligent investigations, we're going to continue to support that post-incident experience across sites, detections, you know, continue to expand what that looks like, so that way you can resolve investigations with ease, whether they're internal or external.
So continuing to expand that notion.
And then intelligent safety, again, is expanding on the promise of employee safety, making this, a mutually beneficial experience so that employees care about their own safety, but you're also able to create and maintain a culture of safety and identify and act on unsafe behaviors, to avoid liability, right? Or something like, something like that.
George Bentinck
We don't want to spoil the surprise, but if you'd listen carefully to my earlier intro, you might have some inkling around what's coming in intelligence safety in the near future.
Regarding PPE. So, yeah, stay tuned, and definitely come back to our future webinar. But
One of the things that I want, I was, I was talking to Tim about this before we sort of set up the webinar, that I wanted to sort of pivot from this conversation around our intelligent
packages is to actually the next product, which is one of our, latest offerings, because it doesn't have intelligence. And you may be asking, why are you telling me about intelligence, why, about a product that doesn't have intelligence on an intelligence webinar? And I think this goes to actually what Tim was talking about with the effectiveness
That customer that ended up with, like.
100% elimination of the problem, which is some sites don't require that level of deterrence effectiveness. They don't require all of those extra cameras, and actually what we've seen is customers deploy the units, they're very effective at getting rid of the problems, and then it becomes hard to justify the spend.
when the problems are no longer there, right? You know they're working, you know what the site was like before, but, like, the top-level budget holder would be like, they haven't had any issues with this site, why are we paying for, like, this
high-end MSU with all of these capabilities, why don't we do something else? And you're like, well, the problems will probably come back. But, like, you don't really have good, sort of evidence of that until you take it away and the problems do come back.
And so this is where we created the Essentials MSU. So this is our lowest cost MSU offering. It's just $1,000 a month.
It has all of the high-quality engineering, hardware, and, like, uptime you expect from LVT, and it's really about coverage and the most basic of deterrence. So you have a 20-megapixel
4-imager, quad, NDA-compliant access camera, so you could get great coverage.
And you just get some basic strobe lights that aren't configurable, don't have any AI, they don't react to people, but it has a presence. So, in the customers we've been talking to, they've been very excited about deploying
the core and full fat, and Tim's probably going to give me a tongue off for not using the right terminology to describe the, like, main product offering, but, like, the MSU you're all familiar with from LVT
And then once the problem is gone, and probably displaced to somewhere else.
You can take that unit to another site where there is a problem, and you can replace it with something like this, which prevents it coming back at a much lower cost point, and still gives you great coverage.
And so, what was interesting to me is talking to a lot of the early customers that just see their ability to expand with LVT grow, not that they want to spend less, it's just they want to cover more for the same, or with, like, a moderate incremental uplift, not like a doubling of their cost if they double the number of sites. So it really gives you options. It's in the VMS
you get that app, you get, like, all of the things that are, like, our core product offering. It's just a lot of the intelligence capabilities that you have seen us talk about today are not available. So, that's the sort of difference there. But it's a great complementary product offering to enable you to adapt the fit of the solution.
To the site's level of issue.
Tim Male
Yeah.
Totally. And to echo that point that you made, George, it is
it may not, it may not, include intelligence, or may not, you know, have the intelligence available, in the ways that we talked about today, but not, again, all sites aren't created equal, right? So, like, there may be some sites that benefit from that. They just need kind of this, for lack of a better phrase, scare pro that sort of gives them enough and keeps
You know, bad actors at bay, and then there are other sites that need everything, because it's just, it's a higher traffic or a higher risk site.
So
yeah, Essentials is incredible. It's a really great offering, and another way that we are sort of adapting to, you know, the needs of our, of our partners and our
customers and accounts and organizations and, you know, everybody that we talk to on the day-to-day. We want to make sure that
We're making good on that. So, I know we're almost at time. I do want to wrap up with the fact that we talked a lot about intelligence today, we talked about the Essentials MSU, but there's a lot more that we have released. So, if you scan this QR code, you'll check out our release notes. We update those quarterly, so you'll get kind of updates
You'll be able to see what we've launched in the last quarter, and all of the bells and whistles and good things that we're working, we worked on, you know, to get in your hands. So
Bookmark that page, really good stuff, and then we'll have our next
webinar here in a couple of months, November 18th. We'll be able to come back and talk about some of the things George is alluding to, which is some of the expansion of these intelligent packages and, you know, additional capabilities. We probably won't make that one 11 p.m, but we'll find a way to show you some good stuff, that maybe requires lower light. So
With having said that, we really appreciate the time, and George, I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to do this with me. It's been great.
George Bentinck
Yeah, no problem, Andy. I'm here for the live demos and for the customer conversations, so thanks for the invite, Tim.
Tim Male
Absolutely. Well, I know that we are almost at time. Any final questions for George and myself that we can
that we can answer. The other thing is that if you scan this QR code, you can learn more about these packages. So, if you want to maybe talk to your CSM or a sales rep about what this looks like for you, scan that QR code. Otherwise, drop a question in the chat, and we will take maybe a minute or two and answer any lingering thoughts or questions.
George Bentinck
the more you think about the questions, I also want to call out a big thank you to Ankur for hanging out in the parking lot for an hour while we were doing the demo. I appreciate that.
Tim Male
Yes, yes, great callback, yeah, yeah, thank you, Ankur, and
And thank you, everybody who worked, who kind of worked, with us on this, you know, this presentation, and the folks who joined us today. I hope that it was clarifying and valuable, and you understood kind of what, where we are today, but where we also want to go. So, I really encourage you to mark your calendars for that November 18th.
Webinar, because that will be another really great way to see what we're actually
what we're actually up to, right? And continuing to expand on these capabilities.
George Bentinck
All right. Cool. I don't see any questions, Tim, so let's call it there. Thank you, everyone. Have a great rest of your day.
Tim Male
Thanks all, take care.
